ConKerr Cancer A Case for Smiles:
ConKerr Cancer was started in 2002 when Cindy Kerr began making colorful pillowcases for her son Ryan who was in the hospital for long periods of time. The pillowcases brightened up his hospital room and put a smile on his face.
Since 2002 tens of thousands of pillowcases have already been made by thousands of sewers and ConKerr Cancer has established local chapters across North America and around the world.
Quilters are known for their generous hearts as well as their talented hands. One afternoon participants will have the opportunity to take a break from their sewing projects, if they choose, and make a pillowcase for ConKerr Cancer to be sent to a local hospital. Pillowcase kits with fabric will be provided.
Generous and talented Quilters made 129 pillowcases for McCall's 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge at this year's retreat.
These pillowcases will be donated to the ConKerr Cancer efforts at Mission Children's Hospital
